2011-2012 Monday Pizza League

The 2011-2012 NJTTC Monday Pizza League season starts at 8pm sharp with tables 1-6 reserved for league use starting at 7:30pm.

Beginners are welcome!

This individual play league welcomes players of any age and playing style. There is no minimum USATT rating requirement (currently we have players in the range of 1100-1900). Enjoy the tournament-like competition without the expense of going to a real tournament. Players can even track their match stats and rating progress online since the league will be using the USATT League Ratings system, a system that is parallel to the USATT tournament rating system.

This event is designed to be fun-filled with pizza served at half time. If the number of participants increases, we plan to introduce prize money. We plan to develop a high talent, competitive but fun playing environment using this league format. This league would also serve as a doorway for future members by allowing them to come and try out the NJTTC club experience.

How it is done: All participants are seeded according to their league rating. Generally, player's league rating will be very close to their USATT tournament rating since the USATT league rating system follows the same process as the USATT tournament system. Players are split into groups of 4-6 players and then each group plays out a round-robin. If a player is pressed for a time, they can default the remainder of their matches without their league rating being adversely affected. Upon completion the results are entered into USATT League Rating system. The standard USATT rating process is applied, and the results will be available online within a day.
