Tournament Volunteers
To ensure that tournaments are run efficiently, the tournament director needs one or more helpers to take care of various errands involved in running matches. Policies regarding tournament volunteers are described below. To sign up to volunteer for a particular tournament, use the links at the bottom of this page to find the schedule and sign-up form for that tournament.
Preference will be given to club members and sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-club members will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Call out matches
- Help with entering results
- Post updates on tournament bulletin board
- Answer general registration/tournament questions
- Help with cleaning up club facility, hallway, bathrooms, etc.
- Set up & re-arrange tables, barriers for semi-finals and final (Sunday PM shift only)
- Assist tournament director with basic operations
Tournaments run all day Satuday and Sunday and there are three available shifts on each day. Refer to the schedule below for specific dates. A maximum limit of 2 people per shift are allowed.
- Sat 9:30am - 1pm
- Sat 1pm - 4:30pm
- Sat 5pm - 8:30pm (clean up)
- Sun 9:30am - 1pm
- Sun 1pm - 4:30pm
- Sun 5pm - 8:30pm (clean up)
If the volunteer plays in the tournament, s/he can get free entry to one tournament event per day. If s/he does not play (or volunteers for an additional shift), s/he will instead receive a cash compensation of $10/shift.
